Below is a list of new features and improvements to the previous versions.

Server Administration and Reporting Changes

• Functional performances have been overall improved by ensuring better internationalization support and by the improvements to the AD sync and import features.
• Stability performances have been significantly improved.
• Installation and user interface enhancements such as: Zend Optimizer is installed silently (Windows specific), uninstalling script (Linux specific), added progress bars for AD and log backup operations etc.

Client Side Changes

• Many overall improvements such as: stability adjustments in the Client file system driver for 64-bit platforms, improved logging system and debugging efficiency, better interaction with other file system drivers, enhanced shadowing function etc.
• Security enhancements: encrypted server address.
• Improved Client Notifier functionality.
• Increased Compatibility: Client support for .Net Framework 4.0 Beta.

• Security and stability performances have been improved.
• System On / Off (button) functionality has been improved.
• User interface updated with more translations in all 6 languages.

Client Side Changes

• Additional controllable Device Types added: BlackBerry, PCMCIA (refined).
• Expanded TrustedDevice support.
• Overall enhancements such as: at client expiration there is a notifying pop-up for the user and the client stops taking actions (all devices will be allowed).
• Improved communication between client and server: client registration, treated invalid server responses.
• Many other overall improvements and fixes such as: file shadowing for files with identical names but located in different folders, file shadowing failure when path was longer than 260 characters, etc.

• Additional controllable WiFi Device Type was added.
• Safe Mode improved Client protection. Even computers starting the Operating Systems under Safe Mode are protected.

• Endpoint Lockdown mode was introduced.
  One click instantly locks down all endpoints and stops ongoing data transfers and device use.
• System Snapshots have been added to easily restore previous settings.
• On / Off button for Endpoint Protector secured environment was introduced.
• Multilingual Interface.

• E-Mail Alerts to notify the administrators of events have been improved.
• Graphical Reports have been improved.

Client Side Changes

• File Whitelisting was introduced.
  Only previously authorized files can be copied on authorized USB devices.
• Additional controllable Device Types have been added.

• Improved Client Self Defense.
  Extended protection for Client Service to be stopped. Even users with Administrative privileges require a password to uninstall or stop Endpoint Protector Client.

Installation Changes

• Synchronization with Active Directory was added and the Active Directory Plug-in was generally improved (performance and functionality).
• Endpoint Protector Client Deployment over Active Directory was added.
• The Endpoint Protector Server routine for installation on the Windows 2003 Server Platform has been simplified and improved.
• Installation of 3rd party software requirements (OpenSSL, etc.) has been simplified and improved through an extended assisted installer.

Server Administration and Reporting Changes

• Stealth Mode added
  This mode can be used if the administrator wants to block all portable device use but the user should not be aware of Endpoint Protector.
• Transparent
  Mode added In this mode the administrator is able to monitor all user and machine activity and actions hidden from the users eyes. The user is not aware of Endpoint Protectors installation on the system since all user activity is not blocked but only traced and shadowed.
• File Tracing and File Shadowing is now also as granular setting definable for Users, PCs and Groups where added.
• Graphical log data visualization was added in the Reporting & Analysis module.
• More settings for policies can be defined granular for Users, PCs and Groups.
• E-Mail Alerts to notify administrators of events have been added.
• Many features have been improved and additional functionality has been added such as advanced searches and filters.

Client Side Changes

• Endpoint Protector Client protection against user attempts to stop it by force.
• Reduced memory and CPU usage.
• Faster communication between client and server.
• Client self test to confirm use of correct settings and policies.
• Improved use of TrustedDevices Level 1 to Level 4 for enforced encryption on portable storage devices.

Installation Changes

• The Endpoint Protector Server routine for installation on the Windows 2003 Server Platform has been simplified and improved.
• Installation of PHP and other 3rd party software requirements (OpenSSL, etc.) has been simplified and improved through extended assisted installer.
• Updated Active Directory Plug-in with improved performance and functionality was integrated in the installer.
