Endpoint Protector 4 Appliance - Update

Server Version: 4.4.0.6

Improvements:

  • The option to create HIPAA Content Aware Policies has been added, allowing an easier and more complex way of securing Protected Health Information. Read more about HIPAA, PHI and the Healthcare industry here.
  • On Windows computers, the CAP module can now filter documents that are sent to printers (both local and network).
  • The option to manage Network Shares on Mac OS X by the CAP module has been added.
  • Release Notes can now be viewed directly from the Dashboard: Live Update > View Applied Updates > View Release Notes.
  • Computer’s MAC Address has been added to the displayed information for the Offline Temporary Password feature.
  • Added the option to synchronize the Appliance with a Network Time Protocol (NTP) Server, ensuring that file timestamps stay accurate.

Device Control

  • The list of managed devices has been extended to include USB Modems and Additional Keyboards. This will provide protection against BadUSB. Read more about the risks and threats posed by BadUSB here.

Content Aware Protection

  • Added Additional Advanced Search Filters.
  • Additional file type extensions added to the file type filter of the CAP module.
  • Added the option to change the Threshold from a regular one to a global one. (please consult the user manual for a detailed description page 70, sub-chapter 7.25)
  • Scanning through unidentified file types has been greatly extended.
  • Added Lotus Notes 9.0.1 on the list of supported applications for Windows computers.

eDiscovery for Windows and Mac endpoints

  • Please speak with your CoSoSys contact to enable eDiscovery features in your Endpoint Protector Appliance.

Windows Client Version: 4.4.0.6

Improvements:

  • New icons for the EPP Notifier.
  • New trusted devices supported by the EPP Client.

Bug fixes:

  • Full CAP support for Floppy Disk Drives did not work as intended, fixed.
  • CAP for Floppy Drives did not work as intended, fixed.
  • Fix related to the File Whitelist feature.
  • Fix for detection of some JCB credit card numbers.
  • Client Uninstall action issued from the EPP Server was not working on some machines, fixed.

Mac Client Version: 1.4.1.7 (for MAC OS X: 10.5+)

Improvements:

  • New icons for the EPP Notifier
  • Some improvements related to the way the EPP Notifier handles multiple notifications.
  • Improvements in the way the EPP client handles multiple logs that failed to be uploaded to the server due to network traffic disruptions.

Bug fixes:

  • Bluetooth devices did not work as intended on Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10, fixed.
  • Client Uninstall action issued from the EPP Server was not working on some machines, fixed.
  • Fix for detection of some JCB credit card numbers.
  • In some scenarios it was possible that the changes applied in the EPP Server were not taken into account on the Client side until a system restart, fixed.
  • Scanning of the file names was not working properly, fixed.
