Endpoint Protector – Product Update

Endpoint Protector 4

Server Version: 4.5.0.2

Improvements:

  • The “Exclude Extensions for File Tracing” feature has been added to the Endpoint Settings section, eliminating redundant scanning and false positives for some file types
  • Full Patch Release Notes can be viewed directly from the Endpoint Protector UI prior to applying them
  • The overall performance when working with network shares has been improved
  • RAR files can be inspected for sensitive content
  • The option to login into the Endpoint Protector UI using AD credentials has been added

Device Control

  • ATAPI (AT Attachment Packet Interface) CD-ROMs connected to a SCSI bus can now be controlled
  • System performance has been improved for environments having the system disk on a SD (Secure Digital) bus

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed export list Endpoint Management > Devices

Content Aware Protection

  • To limit false positives and redundant content inspection, several mime types (graphic files, media files, etc.) are now whitelisted by default. These can be changed at any time from the MIME Type Whitelists
  • Additional PIIs have been added, including Finland, Sweden, Kazakhstan Belgium, Brazil and Czech IDs
  • Support for iWork (Pages, Numbers and Keynote) documents has been added

Bug fixes:

  • Sometimes, removing the MDM profile by right clicking on it would display a page continuously loading. Fixed
  • Fixed the situation when after assigning and removing multiple admin roles would generate errors on the page
  • Under specific circumstances, depending on the Linux distribution and versioning, in the Content Aware Protection logs, the computer OS could be reported as Mac OS X. Fixed
  • Several incorrect displays in the user interface have been fixed
  • Drag & drop operations were sometimes inadvertently blocked inside controlled applications that were using their own custom formats to transfer data and messages within them. Fixed

Windows Client Version: 4.6.2.2

Improvements:

  • Downloading content from monitored applications directly to network shares is now possible

Bug fixes:

  • Depending on the file size, the Network Share Whitelist and the File Location Whitelist did not work as intended to fully inspect the entire document. Fixed

Linux Client Version: 1.3.0.5

Improvements:

  • General improvements have been made regarding user detection on CentOS and RedHat distributions
  • Detecting removable devices has been improved

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed system freeze that sometimes occurred when installing the client
