USB-Firewall – taking control where your data goes
takeMS MEM-Drive Firewall assures that only an authorized USB Flash Drive can be used to transfer data.
takeMS announces the launch of the MEM-Drive Firewall flash drive.This takeMS MEM-Drive comes together with the USB-Firewall software “Secure it Easy” that protects PC ports.
With the MEM-Drive Firewall, businesses and individuals are now able to control the use of portable storage devices on their PCs. MP3 Players, USB Flash Drives, portable hard disks or digital cameras are everywhere around us. Most network administrators and PC users are not protecting their IT environment against threats that these devices pose to notebooks, desktop PCs and networks. A disgruntled employee could be tempted to smuggle company data out of the office, or somebody that involuntarily carries virus-infected files to the office on their Flash Drive could infect the company network, can now be stopped.
With the USB-Firewall software installed and configured on a PC only the PCs administrator is able to give permissions to use certain portable devices on the protected PC. These portable devices are stored in a white list and classified as “TrustedDevices”. One TrustedDevice is the takeMS USB-Firewall Flash Drive that can be authorized for use on the PC assuring that the data is transferred only to a safe device. In case of an unauthorized device, being connect to the PC the administrator will receive an automatic e-mail notification regarding the attempted security breach.
On the portable MEM-Drive Firewall the data is protected by 128bit AES encryption with the Carry it Easy +Plus takeMS Edition software assuring that even in cases when a MEM-Drive Firewall gets lost or stolen, the data on it will remain protected.

The price for 1 GB takeMS MEM Drive Firewall will be nearly 35 Euro ex. VAT. The Secure it Easy software is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows 2000 (SP4).
