The event aimed to help companies strengthen their cyber resilience and protection against cyberattacks, data leakage and loss of reputation.

Between 12-14 October, the Endpoint Protector team was lucky enough to be present at this year’s it-sa: IT Security Expo and Congress, held in Nuremberg, Germany. Our team has been a regular participant at it-sa in the past, and after last year’s string of online events, we’ve been quite excited to restart live expos. The “Home of IT Security”, it-sa 2021, was an excellent opportunity for us to showcase our product to potential clients, meet our partners, as well as network and share industry knowledge.

During the three days of the fair, we’ve given expert advice about how companies can ensure data security and comply with regulations. We’ve enjoyed having live demos and presenting the latest features of our award-winning Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution, Endpoint Protector DLP software. Those who visited our stand also had a chance to win a spectacular LEGO(R) Technic 1989 Batmobile™️ set.

What we’ve learned at it-sa 2021

We didn’t miss out on exploring this year’s trending data security topics at it-sa. The expo had an outstanding forum programme with more than 130 sessions on different topics. Here are our top 3 picks:

IT Security Act 2.0 (IT Sicherheitsgesetz 2.0) and KRITIS: The new Act that requires critical infrastructure (KRITIS) operators to expand their IT security measures was one of the main subjects that caught our attention. Holistic approaches are becoming more important, waste management is becoming a critical sector, SIEM is explicitly mandatory, and fines go up dramatically. This means that KRITIS operators should already take the formulated requirements into account in their cybersecurity strategies.

Security for home office usage: Since the outbreak of the pandemic, remote working went into overdrive, increasing the use of privately owned – and unmanaged devices. This, in turn, has expanded the demand for security tools that protect company data. And, our Endpoint Protector is a truly outstanding DLP tool that helps to achieve this.

New approaches on Zero Trust: This topic made into the top 3, because many organizations are now implementing a zero-trust security model where devices are monitored for health and compliance before granting access to corporate resources. This is especially important in the era of remote work, as a zero-trust approach can help ensure security wherever employees are, no matter which device they use, and regardless of where.

To wrap it up, this year’s it-sa was a successful reunion, attended by 274 exhibitors from 18 countries and about 5,200 trade visitors from 28 countries. We’re already looking forward to the 2022 edition.

What’s next?

As usual, fall is a busy period for us, and this year we’re attending both online and face to face events. The Endpoint Protector team continues its hybrid data security journey at Jamf Nation User Conference (JNUC), where we’re also holding a virtual session about insider threats and how to overcome them.

Europe’s leading trade fair for IT security has brought experts, and decision-makers together face to face this year.
